Please bring back 8 v 8
It was there and times were good, then came 6 v 6 it was ok, then you taunt us with the prospect of 8 v 8 again

How could anyone say no?

Yay for deleted posts! Hopefully this is nice enough.

You are totally wrong. Altar mechanics caused defensive builds not 8v8 and now how holding works has changed. I don't think even ANET believes this nonsense so I wish 6v6 people would stop posting this reason. The last time I played 6v6 with altar-only we ran 6 semi/defensive characters, even the W/R had fertile. During the 8v8 test with new mechanics we ran heavy offense with a normal GVG 2 monk backline.

The best update IMO would be:

-Restored Heroes Ascent party size to 8
-Removed changes to Heroes' Ascent mechanics pending implementation in an different arena.(with the exception of scarred removal)
-Changed Number teams in the Hall of Heroes' to five and increased timer to ten minutes as the old halls was.

-Song of concentration now only affects party members.
-Made some skills nerfed to oblivion in the past usable again.
-Nerfed the melee for retards combo (shadow prison)
-No random buffs that make skills super imba (rit spike)
-Nerfed GoLe
-Do something about super nightfall skills (too many to list)

The update is more likely to be:

-Restored Heroes' Ascent party size to 8.

-Made some random buffs that make some skills super imba
-Kicked some skills while there down (because Izzy randomly hates them) Dual Shot now has a recharge of 30 seconds, Balthazar's Aura now lasts 5 seconds, has a recharge of 40 seconds and takes 5 seconds to cast.

Tsk tsk. They would not do that without taking into account the fine details of the effects that such a change would have on the game. It would be:

* removed aoe from Energy Surge
* increased casting time of Energy Burn to 3 seconds



Any speculation as to WHEN this 8v8 change will finally happen?

I'd like to just reiterate on random ways hillarious point but add a more realistic version.

skill Evis-increased adreline to 14. Lowered damage from 32+ to 11+.

Skill sleep added

Anyways, Nurse my point exact. 1000+ points yet really nothing much has changed. Its not just a matter of these updates being over due, but its also asking a question. Does anet care about the HA community. Iv heard anet say these changes are comming for so long now that to be honest im startin 2 think its just another lie to keep us off their backs. How soon is soon 2 anet may i ask, 7 months 9 months? Its almost like this now. Anets the boy who cried wolf. Nothing they say can really be counted as trust worthy. A prime example, lets look at all evidence which says 8v8 HA is best. It owns 6v6 anet see this. Kill count same thing.

Yet anet said 1st march they would make decsion, so how many weeks before hand did they have making the descsion. Then they get another 4 weeks where were informed a minimum of 2 weeks more by galie in a pve area. So were looking at almost 2 months to make a decision which is so clear that if it were an oil rig 200 countries would be sharing it. And with this a like 1 day job to revert HA back. So whats taking so long. Thats what i find the real problem is and what really annoys me. Its fair enough saying itll come soon but when i get itll come soon. 4 weeks later, itll come soon. 4 weeks later itll come soon it makes me wonder what these guys are doing. They say procasination is the theif of time and anet seem to be exploiting this.

Oh, don't worry. If theres one thing you can count on, its that those nightfall skills WILL be taken care of. Just wait for Eye of the North (or whatever the heck C4 is suppose to be called). It will have new skills so that are so powerful and so imbalanced that those old "super nightfall skills" will be laughably bad in comparison. Don't believe me? Think back to NF's release.

While HA is nothing like it once was in 8v8 with different objectives, I think that the current objective based hall of heroes is much more balanced towards 6v6 all things considered.

Take the current murderball for example, with 6 people, you designate 2 runners, have your monks near the altar and have the last two people bodyblock/snare/delay the opposing teams.

With 8 you'd have another 6 people (2 per team) doing the same thing, creating almost impassible blocks/complete map lockdown for both teams, making the game far less enjoyable, less about team-based tactics and more about simply stopping the other teams entirely.

Sigh, thats where anet screwed up again, when we get 8v8 back, they change the system , gfg

As i said i think shes avoiding us because she knows we have very valid punishing questions for anet. So there not willing to reap now what they have sown. Also it just goes to show, anet dont care about the HA community because there not exactly showing or trying to win our hearts back. Its more like, oh ye ur ticked off with us well we dont care we got our pvers. So gg good bye (closes door in our face).

One of my major points of favour for 6v6 was that it's more accessible to new players, which would be good for Anet to sell more copies of Chapter 4. Now that Chapter 4 doesn't exist, and to get GW:EN you need one of the previous chapters, this isn't as strong of a point anymore.

Considering the voting here is tipped to 8v8, and most voting elsewhere is 6v6, I wouldn't be surprised for a permanent switch back to 8v8. Of course, specific spike skills will need a buff, and anti-spike skills would benefit from a buff. Xinrae's Weapon -> reduce cost to 10, recharge to 15.

Hopefully some news will drop in the next week or two.

I love 8v8, there was so much more varity, now with rit spike nerfed... no more spike builds that are over powered... so bring it back i say!

I much prefer 6v6, alot easier to make a team, funner game (8v8 you couldn't win in broken tower if you weren't a spike team).
I like ha the way it is.
